Who we are

Time Dozen is an independent website. It is not affiliated with any government or standards body. Contact details are on the contact page.

Cookies

We set no advertising cookies of our own. Google Analytics sets its _ga cookies to tell returning visitors apart; see Analytics below.

Location from your IP address

To show your local time, our network provider derives an approximate location (country, city, time zone) from your IP address during the request. It is used only to build that response and is not stored by us or linked to you.

Local storage

Your theme, 12/24-hour choice and similar preferences are saved in your browser’s local storage. Your language choice uses the wt_lang cookie for up to one year so the server can display your chosen language while keeping the current URL. You can remove these preferences in your browser settings.

Analytics

We measure traffic with Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager after the page has finished loading, and with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies. We see pages viewed, approximate country, device and referrer, never your name or exact address. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy; you can block it with a content blocker or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Visitors in the EU, EEA and the UK are asked first: Google Analytics loads only after they agree, and the choice (cookie wt_consent) is kept for 180 days.

Advertising

If ads are shown, the ad provider may process data under its own policy. We do not sell personal data.

Third-party data sources

  • GeoNames (CC BY 4.0) for places.
  • IANA time zone database for time zone rules.
  • Wikipedia (CC BY-SA) on the This day in history page.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal profile of you, there is usually nothing to access or delete. For any request, write to the contact address and we will respond.
