Days Between Dates
Count days between two dates, with an option to include the end date. See weeks, calendar months, weekdays and weekends, including reversed ranges.
The example below uses today’s UTC date.
Total days
October 21, 2026 → December 31, 2026
71 days
| Measure | Value |
|---|---|
| Weeks and remaining days | 10 weeks, 1 day |
| Months and remaining days | 2 months, 10 days |
| Weekdays (Monday–Friday) | 51 |
| Weekend days (Saturday–Sunday) | 20 |
How the calculation works
By default, the earlier date is included and the later date is excluded. Include the end date to count both. Reversing the dates keeps the same set of days and makes the result negative. Calendar months use month-end clamping; weeks always contain seven days. Weekdays are Monday–Friday, without excluding public holidays.
Frequently asked questions
Does the total include both dates?
Only when you enable “Include the end date”. January 1 to January 2 is one day by default and two days when inclusive. Identical dates give zero days, or one day when inclusive.
What does a negative result mean?
The end date is earlier than the start date. We calculate the interval in chronological order, then apply a minus sign to the totals and the week or month breakdown.
Why do months and days differ from total days divided by 30?
Calendar months vary in length. The calculator first counts complete months from the earlier date, clamping at month end, then counts the remaining days.
Can daylight saving time change the number of days?
No. These are calendar dates calculated at midnight UTC, not elapsed local hours. A clock change does not alter the total. Use a time duration calculator when you need exact hours between timed events.
